Jordan XII "Flu Game" Remastered
This year the Air Jordan 12 Retro "Flu Game" returns for 2016 in a Remastered form. Very similar to both the original release that Michael Jordan wore during his iconic "Flu Game" against the Utah Jazz in 1997 and the 2003 retro.
While MJ’s 38 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals were far from shabby, it was his will to win and play through debilitating flu (or rather food poisoning) symptoms that made this game the stuff of legends. Instantly iconic, the performance still holds weight 18 years later.
The Air Jordan XII was originally released from 1996-’97. Five colorways were released and they were the first Air Jordan to feature Zoom Air. They were retro'd for the first time from 2003-’04. The first run of the Air Jordan 12 retro also included the first-ever ‘online exclusive’ release for Jordan Brand.
The first run of the 12 also included the first-ever ‘Online Exclusive’ release for Jordan Brand, the 'Nubuck’ colorway. They were only available to ‘Team Jordan’ members (registered members of Jumpman23.com/NikeStore.com) who were mailed by hand a special URL to go to along with a date and time to purchase the shoe. Needless to say, the site wasn’t prepared for this and the amount of traffic caused nike.com to crash. In a day before social media, it left everyone to voice their feelings on Forums until Nike came out with a splash page addressing the technical difficulty which led to a delay in the release.
The sneaker features a textured black leather upper sitting on a Basketball textured varsity red mudguard and outsole. Release date is set for May 28, 2016 at a Retail price of £155.
